Replace konami stadium.
Estadio Alejandro Villanueva is a stadium located in the neighborhood of Matute in La Victoria District in Lima, Peru. The stadium is the home field of the football club Alianza Lima. The stadium has a capacity of 35,000 people.
On April 11, 1965, it was announced at a press conference by Mr. Walter Lavalleja that a stadium was to be built in Lima for the club Alianza Lima. They were able to do this project because the president at that time, Manuel Odria donated a piece of land for the construction of this stadium. On May 30, 1969, the first phase of the project began.
On December 27, 1974, the stadium was opened and named after Alianza’s idol, Alejandro Villanueva. That same day, Alianza Lima played against the Uruguayan football club Nacional. Alianza tied the game 1 to 1 before a crowd of 36,966 people.
